Gaps in my Track Matte for some reason?

Hey there,

I'm using the Write-on effect along with a track matte to make it look like text is being written on the screen. It's working fine in 3/4 clips, but for some weird reason, it's got gaps in the matte on the 4th one. I created the effect on clips 2-4 first, and then added in a new clip at position 1. That's the only thing I can think of that I did differently, but that shouldn't have an effect.

Also, I've tried rendering the timeline and exporting the video but the problem persists. I've deleted the Write-On and started over a second time, but I'm getting the same result. I've also tried moving the clip up higher to another track in case it was somehow conflicting with lower clips, but that made no difference either. No idea what the issue is.

    Thanks for the reply. I actually figured out what was happening. Somehow the mask was offset from the original text, even though it didn't look like it before I applied the tracking matte. I discovered this when I tried to "Revert Attributes" on the clip, to see if there were issues, and suddenly it was offset from the mask. So the reason for the gaps was because the mask wasn't in the right place. Very weird, but easy fix once I discovered the problem.

    You might want to try putting all the clips into a nested sequence and then animating the sequence.

    After Effects is far better at this. I never use the PP write-on effect as it doesn't seem to work very well
