Question

GoPro VR plugins / .prm files not recognised

Hi

Premiere on my desktop machine is not recognising some the GoPro VR plugins from here: http://www.kolor.com/gopro-vr-plugins/

I also have a laptop and they install and show up in premiere fine, so I think this is a configuration issue with my desktop's copy of premiere.

Both machines are Windows 10 and I'm on the latest version of Premiere. I used the installer .exe to install.

The location of the plug ins on both machines seems to be:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2018\Plug-Ins\Common\GoPro

They are .prm files.

I have also tried installing them using the 'Import Presets...' option in the effects panel inside Premiere, but it seems to only allow installation of .prfset files.

Thanks

So I will downgrade to Premiere 12 because I have an old project in which I used the GoPro VR Horizon plugin.

Presets are different from plugins so no way to get plugins through import presets.

Presets are effects or keyframed animations created inside premiere pro using available effects and plugins, then saved as presets for later reuse.

Plugins are tools created by 3rd parties to work inside Premiere Pro or other NLE and should be upgraded regularly

to adapt to newer software releases.

Gentlemen, I believe the problem is not about the GPU video card, but the GoPro plugin that has not been upgraded to Premiere 13. See that the plugin runs on a Macbook Pro with Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB, but does not appear in Premiere 13 with Radeon Pro 560 with 4 GB of video memory.

    Macbook Pro Retina 2015

Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB

    macOS Sierra
    Premiere 12

    iMac 4k 2017
Radeon Pro 560 com 4 GB GPU
    mac OS Mojave
    Premiere 13
    ___________

Actually the plugin does not get installed in Premiere 13, so it does not appear in the Video Effects tab, as shown below Premiere 12.

I don't think this is purely a Premiere Pro related problem. Can you please share the system specs of both machines since it works perfectly on one of them ? There are plugins that require GPU acceleration, so it depends on your graphics card, whether it is updated or not, and the way it was updated, through a normal windows update or straight from the vendor's site? There are many reasons so better share your system specs please. And screenshots of your timeline would be helpful, if you can also share with us which file format you are working with.

    Adobe Premiere

    I have the same problem!

I installed GoPro Fusion Studio App three months ago.

These several plugins will appear in my Premiere ,

But after the recent update,  these several plugins is gone.

I removed all the two softwares and reinstalled them.

    Still can't find these plugins.

    GoPro VR Horizon:

With this plugin you can straighten the horizon of a 360 video using sliders for the yaw, pitch and roll axes. You can also use keyframes to create transitions between the spherical point of views and an optional “Smooth transition” checkbox helps you smoothen complex transitions.

    GoPro VR Reframe:

With this second plugin you can input a 360 video and create an authored standard video by changing the field of view and the point of view, using the same three sliders for yaw pitch and roll.

And just like GoPro VR Horizon, you can use keyframes and the “Smooth transition” checkbox for your storytelling.

    GoPro VR Layers:

Insert text, logos, and video layers on 360 footage

Can someone from Adobe answer this, please?

Or give us a reduction on our monthly payment to you!

How hard is it to answer this simple question?

How much profit are you making a year while you make us wait for simple answers such as this?

When working with plugins from other parties and the problem is related to missing plugins,

what does this have to do with Adobe?

When there are new updates to Premiere Pro, some plugins might still work in newer versions,

others might require updates from their vendors to work properly in newer Premiere Pro releases.

Seriously? It's been the same issue two years in a row since VR Camera are available and an Adobe Community "Professional" dares to say that this is the free plugins that every Go-Pro-video-based VR editer use that is not working?

I clearly feel that this is the issue of Adobe since other application sucha as Da Vinci and Final Cut solved it at the beginning of VR plugins from Go Pro whatever the version you use. Putting a new version on the shelf every year that is not able to benefit from former solution, that is an issue, but I am not a "professional", just a customer...sorry.

    Further testing:

I made a test project on my laptop, but a single clip into a sequence and added gopro effects to it, they worked.

I copied that project over to my desktop and tried to open it, it gives the error message:

Video Filter missing:  AE.GoPro VR Horizon

Try to put the .prm files here instead: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore

    Thanks Averdahl.

I just tried that and unfortunately it doesn't work.

There is already a (different) gopro related plugin in that folder which does work, GoProVRPlayer.prm.

Do I need to register the plugins with premiere somehow or just put them in the right folder?
