GPU problems - Nvidia Gforce GTX680 - Windows 10 - CUDA?

I've just upgraded to Windows 10 and Premiere CC 2018

(Windows 7 + Premiere 2017 previously working fine. Upgraded to Win 10 because Win 7 home would not support more than 16gb RAM).

Nvidia Gforce GTX680 GPU

Intel i5-3570K

32gb RAM (DDR3 1600)

Windows 10

I'm having a lot of problems with GPU, and I think it might be CUDA related. Black screen with some videos (HD 1080x1920 25fps) on timeline - workaround by restarting system / reimporting 'problem' clips onto the timeline. Frustrating.

Now trying to export a h264 and getting GPU related error message in connection to Lumetri colour effects I'm using.

What can be done with my GPU / Windows 10 / Premiere setup?

Very grateful for advice, and solutions to my urgent problem.

Thanks.

Correct answer excited_Genie16B8

You might try updating the GPU to a 1000 series card.

Thanks Jim,

I have done just that, and will keep you posted on the results.

what i would do, (970 here) uninstall all the drivers, clean everything up and re-download and install drivers, make sure you get the right drivers, i recommend using geforce experience for that, just install that, and install the drivers from there. Or maybe that gpu is no more supported? look that up i guess.

Thanks djrumbu,

Tried clean reinstall of latest drivers and even the dreaded gforce experience. Sadly no improvement.

You dont need the gforce experience just install the driver.

Make sure Nvidia does a clean install.

Might need to roll back a driver.

I have a gtx480 and runs just fine.

If you are having lumetri problems in export.

Remove effect (and clip) from timeline and apply again.

If you are having problems, reinstalling and using cleanertool can fix problems or just resetting Preferences and Plugin cache (shift+alt)
