So I have the latest version of Premiere CC, and I shot some footage with the h.265 format, I try to import to premiere and it will not import my footage.  What can I do?

I didnt end up doing that till about a few hours ago, the problem still was happening prior to using k-lites codecs

Change the file name to xxxx.mp4.  Import to Premiere 11.0.1 and it will tell you that you have to install the HEVC  codec, Do it and it imports.

Just a WAG on my part

How do you change the file to .mp4. A separate program??

Just change the file extension to .mp4 by renaming the file.

I also downloaded K-Lites codec package and I can view the footage I filmed through windows media player, but no luck in premiere still.

That was a bad idea.  That has often interfered with Adobe software in the past.  And it gets so embedded into Windows that the only way to remove it fully is to wipe the C: drive and reinstall Windows and all your programs from scratch.

renaming the top level folder didnt work either.  Here is a link for a clip.  but this is my version of CC

    Dropbox - DJI_0001.MOV

I got the same results as Ann.  The original .mov file would not import.  Changing the extension to .mp4 worked.

I keep saying, QuickTime needs to die already.

What exactly happens when you try to import the footage?

You have copied the entire card to the hard drive, yes?

You are using Media Browser to import the clips, yes?

OK, two things I can suggest.

    1. Rename the top level folder containing the media.

    2. If that doesn't work, upload a clip to a file sharing site so we can test.
