Yes -

KONA 4 provides this support for your 4K/UltraHD/2K and HD HDR pipelines to HDMI compatible displays in software v13 by offering HDR10 support with HDR 10 Infoframe metadata, in accordance with HDMI 2.0a/CTA-861.3 and HLG support on applicable HDMI displays. Desktop Software v13 introduces HLG support over HDMI for the latest versions of Adobe Premiere CC.

Thank you for the information, I tried it today with a Panasonic OLED TX-55EZW954 and Kona settings HDR 12 bit, no picture. With HLG 10 Bits a picture, but wrong colors.

Is it possible to have a setting HDR 10 Bit? I think, this will be the problem.

Hi Lothar,

A few thoughts that might help here:

In order to set up to display HDR via KONA 4:

Please launch AJA Control Panel and go to the HDMI HDR tab (v13.x minimum).

• Under EOTF choose “ST 2084” for HDR 10, or choose “HLG” for Hybrid Log Gamma.

• Under HDR Mode choose “BT.2020”, “DCI-P3 D65” or create your own custom value set.

• Under Ext Color: Note that most TV’s require this be set to Non-Const Luma to go into their HDR modes.

Apart from those setup steps, the only other items to verify are:

  • Your material does indeed have valid HDR metadata?
  • That metadata is intended to be transmitted side band via HDMI?

More information is available here on page 50+ for the Manual:
