Help; No Audio on Timeline - adobe premiere pro 2020

Audio was playing and then stopped after installing vMix.
I have checked the Audio Hardware and Software settings in Preference, no problem there.
I have played the clip in the Source window, still no audio.
I have soloed the clip; closed and reopened the project and restarted the computer. Still, no audio.

Your help in this matter will be greatly appreciated; I have deadlines to meet, I need this problem solved.

Thanks,

Thanks Meg_The_Dog and PhillipJoseph for your assistance;

I received the solution from a YouTuber who gave me a simple solution that I will pass along here in case someone else experience the same situation I encountered.

ADOBE PREMIERE AUDIO FIX

Close Premiere.
Hold down SHIFT/ALT -  Clk on premiere icon to reopen it.

Continue to hold down SHIFT/ALT until dialogue box appear.

In the dialogue box, choose to reset (the given options)

Clk Ok.  Done!

This issue was resolved immediately. I had spent days following Adobe's suggestions and the advice given on this forum and nothing worked. Until I followed that simple advice.

I hope that the information I have provided will help others.

Stay Safe

It is not just an fix for audio but in general when Premiere is acting up.

FAQ: How to reset (trash) preferences.

Your Premiere audio hardware needs to also match the system audio output. It's possible that something about your system was changed when installing/using vMix.

Do installing vMix affect my Adobe Premier Pro audio??

I see meters moving. Video in VLC media player is great. JUST not getting audio inside Premiere.

I already set my output to speakers, input from "mic".

Ideas please? 🙂

Do the audio meters move when you play the timeline?

There are two Preference Settings to check,  Audio Hardware and Playback:

Make sure they are configured as you expect.

Is this on Windows? In the Audio Hardware preferences, try setting the Default Input to none.
