Mac OS 12.4

The subtitles disappear when I export the finished sequence. What am I doing wrong, or is it a bug?
Subtitles generated automatically, leave the defaults as they are. Click on "export" the subtitles become invisible, cancel export, the subtitles are here again.

Correct answer Stan Jones

You do not show it in the video, but, in the Export settings, under "Captions," it is probably set to "None" or "Sidecar." If you look, you will see that, in the Export preview, the captions only show when "burn in" is selected.

I had not noticed it, but this behavior also occurs in the Program Monitor as long as the export is active.

Once the export ends, or, as in your video, you cancel it, the captions reappear in the Program Monitor.

So I think this is "by design."

If you want the captions burned in, select that in the export settings.
