Help with this video file? Mediainfo specs.

Hello,

I'm not a creative expert so my apologies if this is the wrong place for this question. I ran it through MediaInfo and see that the video is 1280x720, but it looks SD. Using the specs from MediaInfo, is it safe to say this file was encoded? What kind of things can you tell me about this file using the specs I've provided?

I appreciate any help you guys give me.

    Hi Matt,

We see the file info, but what trouble are you having, precisely? Will it not import? What's going on. Give us a bit more detail so we can help you.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

My apologies Kevin. I work for a television station and we are sent video files via our local FTP. The specs I included are from a raw file a creative department encoded. Before and after encoding, this video file looks like it's SD. No trouble as the file airs. I just don't know enough about creating content to discern anything relevant from what MediaInfo tells me.

We are told they film this show in HD. However, it looks SD and even plays out as if it's SD. Do you know anything about Matrox DSX? Is it possible this show is actually SD, and the results of the mediainfo specs I provided show that this file was encoded?

I see that time code source says Adobe tc_A. Is that from recording, or does encoding a file give it that time code source? I apologize for my ignorance.

How does it look SD? The MediaInfo you provided shows it as 1280x720 with an aspect ratio of 16:9. How is that SD?

Maybe it is SD and somebody converted it to "HD" with the matrox codec.
