HORIZONTAL MASTER AUDIO METER

New Here ,
Apr 16, 2017 Apr 16, 2017

I have Premiere Pro Version 5.5.0 (233(mc258762)) and I like to set my own custom workspace.  Is there a way I can have the master audio meter horizontal?  It was super easy in previous versions of Premiere but it eludes me with this version.  If there is not then I will switch back to an older version.  Thanks in advance for any help.

Ah you are on cs5.5: dont think you can reshape.

Take one of the workspaces that has a horizontal audio meter and rebuild it how you want.

Can you not just drag the edges to change the shape?

Richard,

It stays vertical when I stretch it sideways.  I made the mistake of upgrading my Premiere and have found several differences from my 2014 version (which worked fine) and I have no problem going back to it.  I clicked on the HELP and found no mention of vertical or horizontal display regarding the master audio meter.

Mine will go either way.

What you have to do is totally undock the audio meter panel (right click on the panel and select Undock Panel). Once it's separated from the interface, you can click and drag it. Drag it to the bottom of the screen, where a green line will appear along the bottom edge of the interface. Once you release it, your meter should know which border it's on and adjust to the horizontal layout.

Hope this helps!

erisidae,

I tried your solution and it still is not responding.  I unlocked the panel, clicked and dragged it to the bottom of the screen but saw no green line.  When I click on About Adobe Premiere it says I have Premiere Pro Version 5.5.0 (233(mc258762))

Is this version different than yours?

Thanks,

Michael

Undock the meters, change the shape to horizontal - you'll see blue outlines and a blue rectangular box on the left side. Click and hold within that blue box and drag it to the bottom of the Premiere Pro screen and you'll see the green line:

If that's the case, then your version should be pretty similar to mine in this regard. Though I don't have any firsthand experience with that version, I don't think it works much differently. I could record my screen and show you how I do it, if Meg the Dog's solution doesn't work. Just to point this out: I work with Windows, while MtD apparently has a Mac. While that shouldn't make any difference, it may be worth noting just in case.
