How can I change the text in my subtitles?

Hi,

I want to change the size and colour and shadow etc. of my subtitles, but in "Essential Graphics", the option to change it isn't there. I've looked at tutorials on Youtube but it looks different to mine. However, when I try to change the text of a regular title, the options are there as normal. I am currently using a MacBook and have the newest version of Premiere Pro, so that shouldn't be the problem.

How it is on my program:

How it is in the tutorials:

Thank you in advance for you help!

The actual appearance of subtitles is determined by the player -- YouTube, television channel, etc. -- and is not set by the editor. You're merely providing a stream of text that appears at specific timecodes.

If you plan on displaying the subtitles on screen (burn-in) and controlling the font size, color, effects, etc. then you would convert them to Essential Graphics. Very easy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BY4uAFMdSZk
