How can I get the 2017 PP V11?

Not sure if this post is allowed in here, but again in a follow up to a problem I have where my 2018/2021 versions of PP can't play my .DV clips and they are all offline, it seems the only version that can play the .DV clips as normal is the PP 2017 V11.

But I cannot find a way to download this version anywhere, I have Googled it to death. I really need the 2017 version legitimately to carry on with this massive project and it's just so hard trying to link these clips 1 by 1 to the 2021 version, if I have V11 I could have everything linked and working right away.

Does anyone know where or how I can get the 2017 PP still? Any help would be highly appreciated and a life saver to me here. Many thanks.

Correct answer Ann Bens

There is no direct download for Premiere 2017 anymore.

2019 is as far back you can go with ProDesignTools.

I do NOT know if the old links go back that far, but click here

Direct Download Links https://prodesigntools.com/tag/ddl MAY help
-you MUST do what it says in Note: Very Important Instructions
-https://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-2015-direct-download-links.html#download-instructions
-the prodesign links go directly to Adobe's file server, so this process will
--only work until Adobe completely removes the old version(s) from the server
.
IF/When you do have a download, be sure to copy it to AT LEAST one external device
-since Adobe does sometimes remove old versions from the server
-a usb flash drive or external hard drive, or write to a DVD

Ah huge thanks John. Yeah I'm going through all of this now to at least get started. I'll see what that 2015 version can do for me.

By the sounds of it I can only install these temporarily or along similar lines?

Not sure what 'Adobe's file server' means, sorry I'm a bit thick and unsavvy about such terms.

This may be the best source for what I'm looking for. I hugely appreciate you doing this for me here.

Nope, not possible. 2019 is as far back as you can go.

Best it to convert all .dv footage to Prores

Shutter Encoder

OK thanks. So far as advised by Adobe, I've downloaded and am using Handbrake, converting .dv files to .mp4.

But if I use Shutter Encoder is there some way that this method will allow me to then link all .dv timeline clips to the new format in a way that it will link several clips at once from the Finder folder the new formatted clips are in?

- As so far it seems I can only link to each new formatted clip 1 by 1 from the timeline. This will take around a whole week to do. (Cheers Apple/Adobe for putting me in the **** there).

If there's a way to link multiple clips at once I would appreciate being told how.

jkpel,

Really sorry that you have to relink one by one. That's painful. Once you get it done, you can forget all about it. I like ProRes LT for a good quality/filesize compromise.

A lot of us converted our files around 4 years ago (CC2017 era). 4 years later, that process seems long forgotten. It did take quite a bit of time to convert everything. Once you do, you'll be glad you did. Shutter Encoder is a better option over Handbrake.

Sorry for the pain right now. I hope it will be worth the time you are spending.

Thanks,
Kevin
