How do I change the side of the playhead shadow?

So there's this issue i've been experiencing that whenever I make a selection for the render area, the selection covers one extra frame at the end of the video.

That happens because the playhead shadow (image below) is always one frame ahead. Even though this helps me on most specific cuts that I do (since the playhead is exactly on the frame i want to cut), whenever I'm at the end of a project, I always have to zoom in and drag the selection one frame back (or go back one frame at the end and mark out the render area).

Is there a way to change the side of the playhead shadow, to show the frame before the playhead, not after?

If you want to make an accurate selection: lasso clips or ctrl+A or whatever then hit forward slash. This sets the in and outpoint exactly on the clip(s) selected.

As noted, the playhead is always attached to a frame, the frame following the blue vertical line.

And so if you move by say right-arrow, you go to the next edit point, which means the CTI/playhead is now 'on' the first frame of the next clip. Or a blank space if at the end of the sequence.

You may find that learning to use the keyboard shortcut for "last frame of current clip" is more useful for you than "next edit point".

As last frame jumps the CTI to the last frame of the selected clip, making it possible to set an End point where you expect it to be.

No. That is how it works.

The Current Time Indicator always shows the first frame of the next clip.
