How do I get rid of the default Workspaces forever?

I have Sync Settings OFF (all boxes deselected), and "Ask my preference" in the drop down.

It never asks me anything thereafter.

I've deleted the default Workspaces many times, and every time I quit and launch again, the defaults are back along with EVERY OTHER CUSTOM WORKSPACE I'VE EVER CREATED.  This is annoying.

Keeping the same Workspaces all the time would make using the keyboard shortcuts more useful.

So, my question is in the header:  How do I get rid of the default Workspaces forever?

    Thanks for the suggestions, gang.

    I dragged all the defaults to the Do Not Show space, but they all still show on the Window > Workspaces menu, and the Workspace Shortcuts still hog seven of the nine shortcuts.  I don't seem to be able to assign my Workspaces to the Shortcuts, except for 8 and 9, and I have more than two of my own custom Workspaces. 

    R Neil gave me an idea.  I searched the Pr app Package Contents and found the XML files for the Workspaces layouts, but deleting the XML files doesn't clear the menu after relaunching the app.  Oh well. 


    If you add a number then a space to the front of your custom workspaces, then Premiere will show those first and of course, the shortcuts for them will be in order as you expect.

    You can put all the workspaces in the overflow menu or even do not show menu and only make your own visible.

    I have but three at the top.

    You can also right click in the little bar with the home symbol (the one that displays the tabs) and choose minimize (or hide), and that waste of space at the top of the window will collapse and hide all the tabs.

    I did this (along with what Ann suggested) and the Premiere interface seems to be a lot more snappy. Possibly a placebo effect, but who cares, at least I don't have to look at those tabs anymore.

    The default ones are in the program files and well, there.

    The others would all be in the folder where Premiere keeps the User layouts, and I'm away from the computer right now. I think it's something like Users/Username/Documents/Adobe/Premiere  ...

    Either there or in .../Username/appdata/roaming/Adobe ... on (Windows) or equivalent on Mac.

    You can search for user layouts for Premiere if you don't find it. The location is in the Help system if you know where to look. Sigh.

    you can't.  the default workspace has to be there so everyone can recover from messed up personal saved workspaces.

    The program needs to have default settings .. and that's one of them.
