How do you delete TRACK keyframes in bulk?

Maybe I'm missing something, but I cannot lasso or highlight all keyframes of a track in a timeline.

Unlike clip keyframes, in which you can select and delete them all via the effect control window, in order to delete track keyframes in CS6, it appears one must manually select every single keyframe individually.  AAAARGH! Even though you can "lasso" or drag a "selection" around things on the track timeline, it will NOT select groups of track keyframes you lasso.

I've checked the CS6 documentation, and still see no way to do this...even though it mentions being able to click outside the clip and drag a selection.

Try it.

1. create timeline

2. set audio mixer channel 1 to "write"

3. hit play and go crazy with your channel 1 mixer slider

4. hit stop

5. change option on Audio 1 on timeline so that you can "show track keyframes"

6. see all those pretty keyframes?...now try to delete them all at once without deleting your audio/video clip...

Any questions?

There is no reason why, in a professional application such as this, you shouldn't be able to select multiple keyframes and delete them. Feature request? Or am I missing something.

NOTE: I'm talking about TRACK automation keyframes not CLIP keyframes.

...or you could just use the pen tool to lasso and remove Track Keyframes...

it works for me:

#pen tool (p) lasso them cattle in, hit delete and wait a second (depending on your machine),

hit Pos1, play, all good

I agree with you, none the less theres a workaround to your problems.

you add an audio track, you move the audios to that new track and you delete the previeous one.

Am just learning about keyframes in Premiere. I spent over an hour trying to figure out how to select multiple keyframes. This information was very useful.

Thank you!

to remove all keyframes from a clip in premiere pro CC 2014, right-click over the clip that has your keyframes. Select 'Remove Effects'. Uncheck everything except for Volume. You'll notice it says 'Remove parameters and reset keyframes'. Hit OK and you're done...all keyframes deleted and volume is reset back to neutral.

If you have several clips back to back, then drag-select all the clips (or Shift+click all of them) and do the same thing: right-click>Remove Effects>Volume. Done

Thank you someg47547554,

That just solved a problem for me!  In CC2015, after right click you now choose "remove attributes"

Have 1 audio clip that is at the level you want the others to be.  Select that clip and Copy it.  Select the other keyframed clips you want to delete keyframes from and use Paste Attributes to change the volume en mass.

I have yet to find a way to Delete Audio Track Keyframes, but when I needed to do it, I just lassoed the Audio Clips, and dragged them to a blank Audio Track (of the same channel-count). There will be no Track Keyframes there. Then, I have just Deleted that Audio Track, the one with the Keyframes. Not so neat, but it has worked for me.

Good luck,

Hunt

A worthy and logical feature request.

One can Shift Click individual keyframes and delete them as a multiple delete.. but it would be better to be able to lassoo or select a range via what one would expect of Click - Shift- Click  ( ie. A range selection)

or just use the pen tool with track keyframes.

this poor orphan get's used so rarely, also you can just click to add a keyframe, not Ctrl+click like you have to with the selection tool.

lasso track keyframes,

Alt-click to move in place, ctrl+click to adjust Bezier... so many neat and fast uses...

it's a nice and friendly tool and if youd don't at least lasso Track-Keyframes with it, it will only go the way of the Dodo in CS7, and who would want that?

Pen Tool.

Good call SIr.

Note. One must do the select ( lassoo) delete... and then click elsewhere so the timeline redraws.

Thank heavens for this pen tool. It just saved me from shift clicking a zillion messed up keyframes. Much appreciated!

Hi Dragonspear.

I recreated this exactly the way you did it.

(i rarely use track keyframes, so you had me hooked )

the way, you did it it doesn't work.

then again, track keyframes, as i understand are for mixing.

what i did might seem a bit like a "work"around, but after i tried lassoing and did not succeed, (as expected)

i hit Pos1 set the track1 in audio mixer to zero, set it to write and hit play, got the coffee off the stove, poured some, when i came back, i had 2 keyframes, both at 0.

this might be just a little help but at least, you can easily get rid of a sequence or all of your track- keyframes

and it might work until someone point's you to a "real" resolution or to the feature request form, if noone else has the right solution.

i would also think it would be nice to be able to lasso those

Ha! Nice idea. I'm just glad I don't have a full hour of track automation. ><

I'll be using that method until someone else can confirm it can't be done with a cowboy and some rope ;P

you could also move the mix to a new audio-track, when it's a full hour... this would get rid of them all.

and if it's just a section, you would just like to correct, well, you'll have to mix it again anyway.

so i kinda don't see your point in deleting keyframes, you'll need new ones anyway, right?
