I am trying to color grade multiple clips but have been unable to add an adjustment layer even though I have selected the project pannel
Just for info for those who might not know yet ... you create an Adjustment Layer (AL) in the Project panel, New Item->AL.
Then drag/drop it onto your sequence. Adjust for placement/length.
Then select it, and you can add some effects like Lumetri to it. Not all effects are usable on an AL.
If you have a number of clips needing the same correction, doing it on one, copy and paste to all the selected clips in a Project panel bin applies the effect to all of them in one go. This is a "Source" effe

What's it doing or what are you doing? Some screen shots might help, and the specific problem you're having might be a good starting poing. Also, Mac, PC, Win, version, PP version, etc... hardware info, clip info.

Click on the Project panel before you click the FILE menu.
Or right-click the project panel and select "New Item" and then the adjustment layer.

Don't do that from the 'main' menu system, do that from the Project panel, right lower corner, New Item icon.
