How to animate masked layers via "transform"

Hi y'all,

I masked out a still photo (body figure) and tried to animate it with keyframes using transform to use the benefit of the shutter angle effect. Of course it was not possible because changing the position in transform meant, that the still image moved without the mask unlike animating on the motion tab.

What would be your smoothest workaround other than exporting the masked image/alpha video?

Thanks and cheers

Correct answer Ann Bens

In order to make use of the shutter angle the still image needs to move across the frame not a mask.

No idea if this is going to work but try masking, then nest and add transform effect to nest.

Worked like a charm. Nesting is always the last and best resort.
