Question

How to change a hard drive for an existing project

I need to switch my entire project to a larger hard drive. Is there a way within the premier project to switch target disk for all the media, or do I need to re link each individual clip?

Thank you for your time.

Usually you will have all your files in a folder structure. Hopefully that is what you have. Then you just move that folder structure to the new drive. I'd try keeping even the same drive letter. PP won't know the difference.

If you have copied all your media from the old drive to the new using the same folder structure, then assuming you've disconnected the old drive and then try relinking your footage - most of the time Premiere Pro will 'find' most of the footage in your project after you've linked the first item. Not always mind you but mostly.

Short answer: you probably won't have to individually relink every shot.

Thank you all!

I started up the new hard drive and after searching for missing files 2 seperate times, it collected them all.

Thank you!
