Question

How to find specific renamed clips in timelines from project panel?

Is there a way, if you have named all the clips inserted in one of many timelines – from the project panel – to find a specific named timeline clip in a bigger project?

Hello Truls Lie,

I'm having trouble understanding what you wish to acheive from what you have described.

For example, I don't understand why the search function wouldn't "find a specific named timeline clip" in the project panel.

hi.
If I wanted to find a named clip in one of 15 timelines,

called 'slavery', I had to click on each of them,

and look trough a long list, before finding that in

timelkne named clip.
At least, markerd (when write to xml is set), can be

searched for kn the whole project. Giving the clip or sequence in the project panel (and the search in the marker panel).

So, looking for a way to find back to points named.
if I had a 'database' with thousands of small

videos, markers or subclip names will do tl fknd the exact point in the clip. But if I make timelines, extrats from transcripts, these points/moments are harder to retrive. also as I cannot search for a word in let us say 50 transcripts in a project.

Hello Truls Lie,

It is still unclear to me what you are asking.

You talk about "named clips" ... but every clip in Premiere Pro has a name. Are you refering to the clip name or something else?

You also mention markers and transcripts.

Are you looking to find a word match via search in markers? transcripts? clip names?

Go into the metadata display and add Video Usage.

In list view, you will see how many times a clip has been used. Click on the arrow and select: It will point you to the clip in the timeline.
