Question

How to fix exports freezing at a certain percentage.

I have had multiple exports for a video freeze at around 6%-10%

This is becoming increasingly annoying and I am looking for what is causing this and how to fix it.

I have attempted a "work around" that I read where you take the project and copy it and open a new sequence and put it in there and export

This did work but then when I made a revision it was no longer working and would freeze at around the same render percentage as the other.

I have also tried exporting through Media Encoder and it freezes in that around the same time too.

A little about the project:

I am using dynamic link for some of the clips in AE that are motion tracking and then speed ramping.

That is only for about 15 seconds of the project and the rest is pretty straightforward cuts with a total run time of 1:49.

I am not looking for work arounds. I am looking for solutions because I am obviously making a mistake somewhere and I need to fix that.

The specs of my computer are a Mac with an M1 chip (2021) and 16G of ram.

I am self-taught so my process may be unorthodox and I am probably making a mistake somewhere

either in how I am exporting it or how I am setting things up. But I have produced large projects before

using this same workflow with dynamic links in AE and have not had this issue so I am wondering what is the issue this time.

Thank you for all suggestions that are not workarounds.

What is on the timeline at the point you have issues?

Is there an error message?  If so, can you post a screenshot of it?

Are the AE Dynamic Link clips at where the problem occurs? What if you copy the project in the OS and remove / replace with a plain old clip. If I do something in AE, I usually render out a ProRes clip, and put that into the PP timeline rather than the AE clips in question.
