To duplicate an effects preset and move it to a custom bin while keeping a copy in its original location, you have two options:

  1. Save as a New Preset:
    • Apply the preset to a clip in your timeline.
    • Right-click the clip and choose Save Preset.
    • Save it in your custom bin.
  2. Export and Reimport:
    • Open the Effects panel.
    • Click the panel menu (hamburger icon in the top-right corner of the Effects panel) and choose Export Preset.
    • Save the preset to a location on your computer.
    • Import the preset back into the Effects panel and assign it to the custom bin.

Just repeating what I said on FB

If you use a custom preset bin, the preset will get moved.
If you use a custom bin, the preset will be copied and put in that bin and stay in the original one.
