Question

How to remap the drag and duplicate command from PC to a Mac

I work on a PC and am remapping my keyboard for a Mac.  I want to hold down the command key and drag a clip to duplicate it in the timeline.

Right now the preset is the option key instead of the command key... it's a muscle memory thing - I can't believe there isn't a simple solution, though for the life of me I can't figure it out.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

To copy and paste clips to a new place in the Timeline, do the following:

  1. Press the Alt (Windows), or Option (Mac OS) key.

Could it be it's just impossible?

I'm not sure this is possible to change. Someone else might know.

I tried switching the function of the Command Key and Option Key in Mac System itself - System Preferences > Keyboard > Modifier Keys, but still got the same (standardized) behavior in Premiere Pro. Might be baked in to the Mac version of the software that mouseclick+option key=duplicate clip.

Alt+drag is a modifier key within Premiere.

Cannot change that like a kbsc.
