How to remove duplicate media in premiere pro?

Is there anyway to detect and remove duplicate media files in Premiere Pro?

I gave a job to an editor in which they started the edit, but forgot to import some of the footage, so removing the media and re-importing everything is not an option. The footage that was imported has been organized in multiple bins so it is not possible to just organize by name and see whats missing. This project has a significant amount of footage.

Consolidate duplicates works like a charm

Why and how though, could you describe what your bins looked like?

was any of the footage interpreted differently?

do the duplicates all have to be completely identicle or will just having a silimar file name cut it?

Apparently 2019 has Edit>Consolidate duplicates 10 Little Features in Premiere Pro CC 2019 — Premiere Bro

Can't speak to it as I'm still using 2018

I actually gave that a shot last night and nothing happened. Maybe it’s not yet functionally.
