Huge problem with Adobe Premiere Timeline

Hi everyone, I have a huge problem with Adobe Premiere Pro, which I returned to use after using Vegas Pro for a long time.

In essence it's an error in the timeline, every time I drag a clip (whatever it is) this goes to trim the underlying clip. Therefore, not allowing me in any way to drag and move the clips in the timeline.

I do not hold down any key of course, I have already tried to rewind the program and the computer but nothing.

It seems absurd to me as it should be something easy to solve but I just don't jump out of it. A little while ago I posted the question on a discord server but without results, no one knew how to help me, advising me to post the question here.

Attached short video of the situation.

Thanks in advance to all

You're getting an Insert Edit as you drag the Clip Boundary in the Timeline.

We usually have to hold Command (Mac) or Control (Windows) to do this.

What's also strange is that Premiere Pro is showing you the Overwrite Indicator and not the Insert Indicator.

While it could be your keyboard and/or mouse, it's most likely the version of Premiere Pro that you're using - either something is corrupted or it's not a full release version.

Sounds like a hardware issue. You can try reinstalling your OS or updating your computer. What is your hardware setup? What OS are you running?

Should have said, It sounds like it might be a hardware issue. Especially if the settings between the two computers you used are the same.

You could try taking the PP 22.0 folder from the user documents folder (on Mac-not sure of PC) of the computer where the projects work and overwrite the one on the problem computer. That way you know all the settings are the same.

Select the clips, right-click and make sure they are not linked or grouped. Not sure how they would have become grouped but they would act like that if they are.
