i am leaving adobe over how bad premiere is. Does anyone at adobe care how buggy it is?  Worked on a large editing project. Imported a clip and lost everything and cant seem to get it back. How can the product be this bad?

That sort of project issue is normally due to not setting up your project location and save processes ... as computers do crap out on us and you have to protect yourself from it. As someone with coming up on 40 years with computers in a bit, I've had tons of computer crashes, drives failing, all sorts of things.

Normally it's just annoying, but if you don't plan to be 'safe', it's total terror time.

I work in (and teach/advise) both Premiere and Resolve. There are Resolve users that lose their databases and/or projects also ... and again, due to not being careful enough in setting things up. Computers jink us up. Period.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...

It's been working fine for me.

What version and build of Premiere Pro?

What operating system?

What are the complete computer specs, including hard drives (how many, what kind, what is on each, what capacity, and how full)?

If NVIDIA graphics, make sure to use the latest Studio Driver from NVIDIA (NOT the Game Driver).

I am using it on a brand new decked out Macbook pro, I just downloaded Premiere last week. I had not used in ages, but had some projects I needed to complete and after losing my work twice I just switched to DaVinci. I have had the Adobe suite mainly for Photoshop and Illustrator for more than a decade but premiere has really let me down at least on the Mac.

that can happen with all apps whether from adobe or not.  always save work frequently with increasing version number appended.  periodically close and reopen the latest version.  only if it opens without error can you delete previous versions.

I had not used it in a long time but got the latest version and lost my work somehow even though I saved.  I have switched to DaVinci and completed both edits without crashes.

it doesn't matter whether you use davinci or anyone else's software.  sooner or later, if you create large and complex enough projects, you will experience app crashes.  again, always save work frequently with increasing version number appended.  periodically close and reopen the latest version.  only if it opens without error can you delete previous versions.

if you don't understand that, ask.
