I cannot drop a different portion of a clip that I've already used into a timeline.

If I have already used a portion of a clip in a timeline, I'm not able to put a different portion of that same clip into my timeline. However, If I just cut off a part of the portion that is already in my timeline, I can extend and re-cut that portion to whatever I need. What is going on here?

it looks like you have Take Video and Take Audio disabled in the left-most column of the Timeline. Click the V1 so that it is blue and you should be good.

Oh man, I was looking at the other ones highlighted in blue the whole time. Didn't even occur to me that the ones you circeld weren't blue as well. Thank you so much for catching that. Saved this amateur editor a LOT of frustration! Thank you!
