When I get sound from another project in adobe premiere program, it throws the sound to the bottom layer and the number 2 appears in a small way next to the layer as in the image below. after this stage I cannot move the sound to the top or bottom layer
It appears from your screen capture that track A4 has been set up as "adaptive" in this sequence, while A1-A3 are "standard" audio tracks (in practice this means it's a stereo track, mostly). The "adaptive" tracks are multi-channel audio (in this case, 2 channels, indicated by the little '2'). 'Multi-channel' audio clips can only be placed in 'multi-channel' ("adaptive") tracks (ie, such clips cannot be moved to or edited into "standard" tracks).
Thank you very much for your interest, but there must be a way! I export the sound and when I import it again it comes to a separate place, is there a solution for this in the programme?
In the project window, you can select any clip and Modify > Audio Channels.
This dialog will allow you to change any clip, for example, from "adaptive" to stereo or mono, so for example a clip could be changed to show up as 2 audio clips (each mono) on 2 tracks ("standard" tracks) instead of 1 clip with 2 channels on 1 "adaptive" track.
Note however, that using this command is not compatible with Adobe Premiere Pro's proxy workflow.
Thank you very much for your reply. If you look at the additional image, there is a small number 2 on the side of the a4 layer and I think that is why the move does not work, but I cannot delete or change that number 2 there.
