I want to edit another project while my video is exporting

Question

Often I want to edit a number or short videos and export them to Youtube or social media.

The workflow I expected:

edit project, export to media file or youtube account
open a different project and edit that while first one is exporting.

What actually happens is that the uploading dialog blocks all usage of the app. This is incredibly inefficient. I have the fastest Internet I can afford, and a high performance computer.

Is there a way to do this, or does the export dialog just always block app usage until it is done?

Are you exporting directly from Premiere, or from MediaEncoder?

If you queue over to Me, do the export from there, then that normally works in the background while you continue working in Premiere. Don't know specifically about during the upload, though.
