Ideal DB for dialogue vs. other sounds?

Say if I set my dialogue to peak at -3DB, where then should my other sounds be coming in at -DB wise? What kind of range should music and the like be peaking? I assume there isn't a catch all and it's down to personal preference, but if one were to be pressed?
