Image freezing after Premiere export

Explorer ,
Jan 14, 2024 Jan 14, 2024

Hi,

I'm having trouble with the 2024 version!
In a 1 hour export, at least 1-3 minutes appear to be freezed. That's right. The exporting process works fine, but the rendered video, whether it's made directly with Pr or with AME, has freezed video inside it.

My client posted it already on YT, now if it deletes it, will loose all the views... 😞

What could be the issue? Please help!

I had this error earlier in December, after I tried exporting several formats (the same error on mp4 h264 1pass 20mbs full HD / ProRes HQ) my "fix" was to export the xml and recreate the whole sequence (graphics, adjustments) in Resolve.

I am working on m1 Mac Pro. Sometimes directly from internal SSD / external HDD / directly from NAS but I didn't have this problem before.

Thank you!

Hi domnisoaracristina!

Sorry about the trouble. What type of media files are you editing (codec/ format, frame rate, frame size)? Can you post the screenshot of the export settings? Also, please share the YT link for the problematic video.

Thanks,

KR

Hello, thanks for answering after more than one month. I wonder what would happen if I pay my subscription after more than one month.I am sure it is not your fault, but please hire some extra people.

It is very bad. Clients very mad complaining about this issue and I really don't know wthat to do except copying the videos on the local SSD. But you can imagine you cannot work all the time on local, especially when there are big projects and I didn't have this problem before, although I am using Premiere Pro for about 14 years. And I feel like the beginner of the beginner with this error.

I don't know what else to do except going back to 2023 version that renders bleached images and I am forced to use qt_gamma_compensation_luts, but this is another story.

I uploaded a video, you can watch it here: https://youtu.be/Zt6Mnyjgdmw

The error is at 04: 15 for about 30s.

At 04:54 the image that unfreezes comes back in sync.

I attached a screenshot with my export settings. These settings are the current settings I have been using since 2022 for podcasts. I also tried exporting Pro Res HQ and the error persists.

If you cannot help me to find an URGENT solution, I will first try to come back to the 2023 version. I really don't know what to do, but if I keep giving clients videos with this beginner error, I will be losing my job and nobody will work with me. The video was already posted on YouTube and this is very bad because if it is replaced, it loses the views it got so far, but you can imagine I can't verify 1 hour long materials in this detailed mode for every export because there is no time for this.

Ok so I did manage to talk with an assistant in chat because I could not stay like this any longer and the error looks that is now solved.

It seemed it was a Permissions issue.

I leave the solving below in case someone else has this problem too (thank you, Siddharth!):

Allow full disk access to Premiere Pro, before that please ensure that the work is saved and close Premiere Pro. Once done, kindly proceed with the following steps:
1. Click on apple symbol
2. Click on System Preferences
3. Look for Security and Privacy
4. Click on Privacy Tab
5. Look for full disk access and enable it for Premiere Pro
Note: If it is not present in the list then please click the + icon at the bottom and add it.

Grant the read and write permissions to the following folders, right click on the folder and click on get info. At the bottom you would see permissions kindly make them read and write for all the users listed:
1. Documents>Adobe>Premiere Pro and the 24 folder inside that
2. Click on a blank space on Desktop and then Click on Go > Go to folder>Type ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe and press enter. Kindly give the read and write permission to the Premiere Pro folder 24 folder inside that.

Finally,  having the original video files stored in NAS, I did an export on my local SSD and the freezing video error was gone.

I hope this helps.

Hi,

My problem is back, although I have followed the instructions of Siddharth, to whom I spoked with on Adobe chat.

On the moment, it seemed the freeze had dissapeared, but it's back with a furious client that complained about this error that I thought it was solved. It's all a mess and I am thinking on learning Resolve on fast forward, if I don't want to send videos with errors in the day they were supposed to sign a new contract for 2024...

Now my Premiere 24.2.1 exports without this freeze error only working completely on my local SSD. You can imagine I cannot work all the time from my 1 Tb SSD with RAW footage that many times is bigger than 1 Tb.

Is there someone here or am I just keeping a public journal of my Premiere misbehavings?
