Import markers

Hi

I want to create an XML file in order to import markers to Premiere Pro for a video file. I'm building it for a feature our company develops, so it should be pretty resilient to Premiere Pro version changes.
I wonder if there is some official way to create this XML.
In any case I'd love to have some pointers on how to do it.

By the way, I've attached some example file from the web as a reference (Not sure this is the right way to do it).

Thanks!

Correct answer Bruce Bullis

what is a CEP panel?

See the links above; basically, a CEP panel is a web page shown within an Adobe app, that can drive the host application via scripting calls.

Premiere doesn't import markers from XML.

PPro definitely does import sequence markers via FCP XML, and honors any valid XMP markers in source media referenced by the XML.

Unfortunately Premiere doesn't import markers from XML. Premiere allows you to create markers from it's interface.

Hi Rob,
Thanks for your reply.
I'm building a system that in its core should generate markers to be imported to Premiere. Using the Premiere in-app interface is not relevant for me.
I've managed to import the markers from the attached XML and see them in Premiere Pro. [See attached image]. I'm looking for the cannonical, best practice way, to create such an XML. (I see that other parties like simonsays.com for example are generating such XMLs). Is there any library/script that could help me create similar XML?
Thanks!

Hi Dadi,

Cool to see you doing this kind of stuff. I have this: https://ppro-plugins.docsforadobe.dev/ - however, that is more for plug-in and panel development and not for XML specifics that I can see offhand. Have a look, though. I hope it helps. It looks as though you've already discovered some resources outside of Adobe. Good luck.

Thanks,
Kevin
