Question

Imported MXF-files comes in incorrect size/pixel aspect

Hi,

I have lots of old master files saved in Premiere Pro 5 as MXF in 1280x720 50p and pixel aspect 1,0 (Comes from Matrox 720 50p - projects).

When I import these files in Premiere Pro CC 2017 (or open old projects) they show up as 1280x540 50p and pixel aspect 0,750.

How can I change this so that Premiere Pro CC 2017 interprets the files correctly? I can change the pixel aspect individually in "Interpret Footage" but not the Image size. This is really annoying as I have to go through older versions to open these files.

Hope you have a solution for me...

    Hi Ann,

I've been off the grid filming in the Mexican Jungle but now I'm back again and here are the screenshots.
It's the same file viewed in Premiere CS5 and CC2017 and I have a Matrox MXO2 Mini hooked up to the system.
I have a dual boot with Win7 on both to keep the configurations separated. Premiers CS5 on one system and CC on the other.

Right now I can't access any of my master files as they all are MXF-files and comes in this strange pixel proportion.

The first image is from my new CC2017 system...

What has been asked ... a couple times now ... is a screen-grab of MediaInfo in Tree view ... something like this:

Download Media Info, drop a file onto it, then go to Tree view, and 'grab' the video section ...

Curious: what does mediainfo or similar show as the file specs?

In Premiere Pro 5 it shows correctly but the same file in Premere Pro CC 2017 shows:

    Type: MXF

    Image Size: 1280 x 540

    Frame Rate: 50,00

    Pixel Aspect Ratio: 0,7500

    MXF File details:

Wrapper type: MXF OP1a (type: SingleItem SinglePackage UniTrack Stream Internal)

File generated by: Adobe Systems Incorporated, Adobe Premiere Pro (5.0.0)

    MPEG-2 422 Long-GOP
