I understand you can use a comma to insert a full video clip from a Bin to the timeline, but is there a way to insert a clip from the source monitor (where you have ins and outs set) to the timeline? This can be done in Final Cut Pro and wondering if you can do the same in Premiere or is the only option to drag-and-drop? Thanks!

You are correct. The choices are the same as with Final Cut Pro. For Premiere Pro, an Insert edit uses the comma (,) key and an Overwrite edit uses period (.). These are very commonly used when editing based on keyboard shortcuts. Hope these shortcuts help. I use them constantly. Have fun editing!
