Hello, I have a premiere file that I import new recordings into every day. The files are always from the same folder and the proxies for those files are always in their own proxy folder. I create these proxies on another PC that saves them onto this PC as it renders them.
Every day I import all the new video files, then select them all in the project bin, then right click > proxy > attach proxy > search > Point to folder > find a matching file then the others get auto linked.
Is there a way to have premiere do this automatically any time new files are imported into the project?
Hi Brock,
Sorry about that. I didn't read your OP carefully enough. I fixed the link too. Thanks for letting me know.
Let me see if I have this right: your workflow involves generating proxies from one computer and transferring them to a second machine over a network. Currently, you manually link proxies to duplicate footage. You want proxies to link to this footage automatically. Is that correct?
I'd consider using a Team Project where you can streamline this workflow. I just tested it, and

Hi BrockPlaysFortnite,
Yes, you can. It's called the ingest as Proxy workflow: https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/ingest-proxy-workflow.html Please return with any questions.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hmm, I don't see anything on automatically connecting proxies to new files. I already use the ingest option on my other computer which is what creates the proxies automatically as new recordings are imported. What I am trying to do though is auto connect them on the new computer.
Workflow goes like this
PC1: Record Gameplay > Import to Premiere > Ingest creates proxies and saves the proxies to PC2 over the network while it creates them
PC2: Copy original gameplay recordings from PC1 to PC2 > Connect proxies that PC1 created to these recordings that I copied over
Also your link has an extra period it comes up as 404 unless I remove it

I'd consider using a Team Project where you can streamline this workflow. I just tested it, and it works. I encoded proxies to my Creative Cloud folder on Computer 1, uploaded the changes (data), and when I went to Computer 2, the proxies were already attached and ready to go. Pretty cool.
Thanks,
Kevin
