curious to know if there is any view I can get of all of the clips that currently exist in any given sequence.

Not within PP, I'm afraid.

You can export an EDL or XML and view the information using third party apps - eg EDL Ease, EDL Hacker and Sequence Reporter.

Although you could add the project to a production, copy the sequence to a fresh project in the production and 'generate master clips'.

Here is a link to this feature request: Proxy Workflow within Sequence - Adobe Product Community - 15577203

In the meantime, here's a workaround that was successful for me.

  • Label the clips in the sequence all one color
  • Create a Search Bin in the project panel to collect that color label
  • Select all and create proxies

Open metadisplay and select Video usage.

Are you referring to the Metadata panel? I went there, and it only seems to include information for the clip currently selected on the timeline, one clip at a time. Please let me know where to find this metadisplay>video usage that you speak of. A search for either in the Help menu search yieled no results.

You can sort on video usage which will give you all the clips in the timeline, how many times and where they reside.
