Issue syncing Audio with Video: Converting a video from VHS to Digital.

New Here ,
May 14, 2020 May 14, 2020

Recently purchased a VHS to SD USB converter to get some old videos on digital. I used my laptops camera feature to record the home videos. It recorded at 59.94fps and 48000khz. When the video is played back on the laptop, the audio and video are perfectly synced. When loaded into Premiere or Rush or any other application, by the end of the video the audio does not sync. I was able to match the settings from the video to the sequence but still experience the same issue. Has anyone encountered this issue and know how to possibly resolve it? One option that came to mind was to change the Project Audio Format to match the video, but cannot figure out how to do that either. Any help would be appreciated!

>VHS to SD USB converter to get some old videos on digital

>camera feature to record the home videos

I think you have made a screen recording, not a true vhs to digital conversion

Exactly what is INSIDE the video you are editing?
Report back with the codec details of your file, use the program below

- when you analyze your file in MediaInfo and post a screen shot in the forum, do so in TREE view

Does your video use a Variable Frame Rate? See https://community.adobe.com/t5/Premiere-Pro/Variable-frame-rate-video-with-Premiere-Pro/td-p/4601935
If yes, use https://handbrake.fr/ open source transcoder/converter to convert to Constant Frame Rate

Fair enough, technically it is a screen recording. Not sure how to obtain the media info:

And Variable Frame Rate confirmed in properties.

When I needed to digitize some old video (both 8mm and vhs) I bought a [no longer sold (?)] Grass Valley ADVC 110 external digital converter that connects to my computer using a Firewire cable... not USB

The AVI files I captured are in perfect sync from beginning to end

Yes, I captured in a mp4 format and it is perfect sync from beginning to end. The issue arises when the video is uploaded into Premiere or Rush.
