Issue with export quality in stop-motion video

Hello,

I am a beginner Premiere Pro user.  I am putting together a short video which is made from a series of still images strung together.  On some of the still images, I have added text and notations.  The images are all high quality and more than large enough to be viewed clearly even on a large projector screen.

The issue I am having is with export - no matter what settings I choose, I can't seem to export a clear, crisp video.  The images look fuzzy and the text is illegible.  I have scoured google and cannot come up with a good answer for why this is.  Some suggest that the only way to get good quality output is to use the same video settings as the video you imported - but I have no imported video, only images.

Thank you for your time.

HI ashleyr,

I responded to your other post. You are working with the wrong preset. The one you used introduces artifacts from interlacing. Try a HDTV preset with a progressive frame rate, such as 1080p at 30 fps.

Thanks,
Kevin

This 'correct answer' isn't working for me AT ALL. I tried all different combinations of H264, mpeg4, 1080hd, 1080 You Tube, match this, match that ......... nothing, repeat nothing, makes my 3782x2127 perfectly clear stills legible once exported. They are uniformly fuzzy. Here's the original graphic and a screenshot of the graphic as it appears in the video. This is a full size snipping-tool capture from a widescreen monitor.

Hi Ashley R,

Have you solved this issue yet?

Hi Kevin,

No, I have not solved this issue.  I couldn't find this thread again to post a screen shot of the export settings so I did so in a new thread, but received no answers there. (Photos only - no video - Export looks terrible and I can't figure out why. ) I would love to find a solution to this problem.

There are two variables in the final quality you will get versus the original quality of the images -

1) What are your sequence settings for the timeline you are editing on?

2) What settings are you exporting the video with?

Fortunately, there is an easy way to see both. On the Media Export Settings Panel, take a screenshot of the Summary (like the one below):

and post that here.

Post screenshot of export settings with the left tab open to output and showing an image.
