Issue with Shift+Track Select Forward Tool

If I press and hold "Shift" while using the 'track select forward" tool, the icon changes from 2 arrows to one and selects all the clips forward only on that one track, as it should.

But the issue is… once those clips are selected, I am unable to move them left or right on the track. It will only let me move them up and down to other tracks.

*These clips are not "linked" to any other clips and if I open up a new project, I still get the same issue

Using the "track select forward tool" works fine as it selects all the clips on all the track to the right of the selected clip. But here, my goal is to be able to use the track forward select tool, but only for one track at a time, without going through the tedious motions of locking all the other tracks.

What am I doing wrong? and/or How do I fix this?

Thanks!

Disregard, figured out it from another persons post in the forum. The trick is to press and hold shift when using the track forward select tool to select the clips, but then release the shift key while still holding down the mouse click to move the clips.
