Keyboard Lag/Slow Response - CC 2017

Currently cutting a feature film on CC 2017. Even though I'm working with proxies (ProRes Proxy) at 1/8 resolution I'm experiencing input lag, particularly when i'm switching between timelines and play/stop. Basically, I hit space bar and nothing happens for about five seconds.

System Specs:

Mac Pro (2013).

3.5 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5

16 GB 1866 MHz DDR3 ECC

AMD FirePro D500 3072 MB

Bluetooth keyboard.

Original Footage is ProRes 4444 at 4.6K from the Ursa Mini Pro.

Only working off of two hard drives, with the mac's hard drive running premiere and storing my cache. Footage on RAID 0 through USB 3.0 (I came in after they had purchased hard drives).

Any suggestions or ways to optimize would be appreciated. Budget is very tight so things like get and external Graphics card won't necessarily fly, but a fix that only costs a few hundred might be feasible. Thanks.

Figured it out. Had a whole day of Raw DNG files imported but proxied. Made those offline and everything sped up. Now I'm playing back in real time at full resolution of the proxies.
