Keyboard shortcuts not working 2024

I have my workspace with the tools panel closed because I don't actually need it I use only keyboard shortcuts...but when I open a project or start a new one the shortcuts don't work...it only works when I click window/tools to add the tools panel to the workspace and then I need to close the panel again...pretty annoying...

We believe this issue should be fixed with 24.4 Beta build 006+, available for download in Creative Cloud.

It's hard to tell for me, from your file path if that is to the Adobe Program folder or to your user preferences folder:

Here's the User Prefs Keyboard shortcut folder in Windows: (Just paste it in to File Explorer)

%UserProfile%\Documents\Adobe\Premiere Pro\25.0\Profile-Gene\Win

The above is where your customized files are saved. There has been instances of a bad install where that folder is empty. For the Adobe default files, they are located here:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro 2025\Keyboard Shortcuts\en

If you are missing the default files in your User Prefs folder, then the thing to do, would be to copy them in from the program folder, but don't modify those in any way. With this, everyting would work on Windows.

If you can share the two paths from a Mac, that would be good.

Yep still not working in 25.1 Beta...

Hey Gerald, this only affected one build quite some time ago.

Further, this is not the Beta forum, with 25.1 recently released.

So, I can press my Hand and Selection tool shortcuts back and forth and they work with or without the tools menu open.

I do see one small issue (with or without the menu showing), if I press the shortcut for some of the tools Pen, Text, Rectangle, it changes to the new tool but does not show it until the mouse moves slightly. Further if the Hand tool was selected, if you select one of the above shortcuts it changes to the Selection tool immediatly, and then as above, shows the actual tool when the mouse moved. This appears on both 25.1 and 24.6.1
