Lagging when zooming/re-positioning video clip

Hi,

I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction here. I am noticing extreme lag (4-5 seconds) when trying to zoom or re-position a clip in Premiere Pro v15.4.

System Specs

CPU - Ryzen 9 5950x

GPU - RTX 3080 ti

The video files are 4k ProRes HD at 24fps so these aren't files that my PC shouldn't be able to handle. I was wondering if it was a hardware issue so I loaded up the same files in DaVinci Resolve and it was as smooth as butter. This leads me to believe something is going on with Premiere.

Has anyone experienced this or has any idea what might be going on?

and do you have multiple monitors attached to your system? that can often cause performance issues. try disconnecting everything but your main monitor and see if that solves your problem. I know that's not ideal, but is a useful troubleshooting step.
