Latency Between Air Pods & Wired Headphones When Editing

I am edting video with Premiere Pro on an iMac and have discovered a latency between using AirPods versus wired headphones.

I have been working a couple days with AirPods and when I switch back to headphones my sync is off. Has this happened to

anyone? Both are being fed by the iMac output.

I don't have direct experience but would certainly expect latency on the AirPods bluetooth connection vs. the direct connection at the headset port.
