MAJOR issues with Premiere CC 2020!

Hi there,

Not posted on one of these things before, but Premiere 2020 is driving me mad!

Until this version, I never had a problem editing graded 4K footage - I have a Mac Pro, late 2013 - but now it won't play back even HD footage properly at all!

It seems I'm not the omnly one to experience this...

Is it possible to download the 2017 version from somewhere to reinstall it? I no longer have it on my system!

And Adobe, please, PLEASE SORT THIS OUT ASAP, or I will have no choice but to switch to your competitors' software.

Thanks!

Simon

    Simon,

This is what happens if a hardware manufacturer (not Apple) pulls the support rug from under you. Adobe was merely forced to follow the trends of the hardware component manufacturers' support policies. This means that effectively, your system must be no more than three years old (and this goes for all hardware components from the time of the manufacturers' introduction, not just the date of manufacture of the component or system) at the time of release of a given version of Premiere Pro in order to run that version properly.

Effectively, your system's hardware (not just the system itself) must date back no earlier than 2016 in order to run Premiere Pro 2020 properly. Otherwise, crashes will occur.

All of the above factors are the exact reason why I do not recommend overspending on an extremely high-end PC just for the sake of future-proofing. That concept simply does not exist any more: By the time that your regularly used software requires most or all of the power of that new monster rig, it will also require hardware capabilities that simply did not exist at all in your monster-class hardware then.

    Sorry about this.

Having major issues as well. ^ Was nervous to updated because every update comes with a whole slew of issues. I open up a project I have been working on this morning, and it won't let me use the effect panel on any 4k footage. Infact im looking at a completely green screen where my footage should be. Extremely disapointed once again adobe, the price is not worth the headache of the constant issues with your products.
