Major playback issue with Premiere 22.1.2 and Catalina

Just spent 2 hours trying to playback my timeline after the 22.1.2 update to premiere. I decided, as this has never happened before, to install the previous 22.0.0 version and my timeline played at full resolution within 10 seconds of the project opening. Can Adobe please fix this please. I like to keep my Premiere updated but this has definitely put me off.

Yes, I did all the recommended lag preventing solutions,  including checking that my audio hardware wasn't effecting playback. Another issue to add is that rending was taking a long time too on 22.1.2, up to 2 hours for just over a minute clip. Now, with reverting to 22.0.0, it does it in 20 seconds.

I had the same issue.  Certain files on my timeline would just hang.  Went back to 22.0.0 as well and it worked fine again.
