Making captions end with audio

Hello, just a specific quick question: 
when I add captions from transcript I see that the captions keep being on even if nobody is talking anymore, during for example a pause in which nobody is talking but technically there is an audio track going (it's just silent). So I guess that the program thinks to leave captions on for as long as there is that track going, no matter if it's silent or not.

A part from actually manually cutting out all the pauses and of course manually adjusting all the captions' end time, is there a way for the captions to stop in sync with the audio?
