Mask tools not working

Question

Please help, none of the tools to select and create a mask are working. If I click on the elipse tool, a new mask shows underneath, but when I try to make a selection, the tool doesn't show up. I tried the polygon and bezier, and same thing. They were working previously, I don't know what happened. I tried restarting, but that didn't work.
