Masks boolean?

By default, the masks are "OR" together so if you have two circular masks, the layer would have two circular visible areas.

 

How can I change this behavior so the masks are "AND" together so that the layer is visible only where the two masks overlapped?

Make the two circular mask with Alpha Adjust and set it to Invert Alpha and then set both to Inverted.
