I've run a number of .mov videos through media encoder using various different codecs and I keep getting the most frustrating outputs. Lets say the video is 30min long. I encode it and the output has the same length as the orignal video, 30mins. I start editing in Premiere Pro and everything is fine for a little while, say 15min in, then all of a sudden, the encoded video is starting back over at the beginning but the audio continues on like it was properly encoded. So now I'm at the proper spot in the audio but the video has started back over and been stitched to the back of the first 15min. This has happened on my PC and my Mac.
If I try editing the .mov the project preview is basically useless. I can click anywhere on the timeline and get the proper audio output on the preview, but the video, no matter where on the timeline I click, starts at the beginning of the video. I really like Premiere Pro over Final Cut, but this is starting to be too much. Help!
The file is variable frame rate, which although Adobe says it will support, many users are having issues with VFR.
Use Hand brake to convert to constant frame rate:

Here's the tree of the file. Thank you so much for your help. It is beyond irritating. Again, just so you can know what's going on. I encode the file, bring it into premiere, and then drag it to the timeline. I can hit play at the beginning of the clip and it runs fine for a while, then out of nowhere the audio clip continues and the video seems to jump back to the beginning of the clip even though its still running down the timeline... it's as if the encoder cut the video in half, threw away the back half, and then just doubled the first half of the video.
If I try and run the video in the native .mov the file runs fine as long as I never cut the clip or try and start anywhere other than the very beginning. If I were to select 10 minutes into the clip, the video basically starts as if it's at the beginning eventhough the timeline is at 10 min in.
It's making it to where I can't use .mov files at all, encoded or not.

Peru Bob,
Thank you so much. I thought Premiere could handle this, good to know this now. I appreciate your patience and help with this.
