Merging graphic transition with png remaining the effect

Hey all,

I am writing to you to ask a question about the transitions and if it is possible to combine them without the effects disappearing.

I am using a lower third template transition on some clips to introduce the speakers present on the screen. Since my project involves an international array of experts, I also included a flag of each country accordingly, manually adjusting its effect to align with the lower third appearance on the screen.

Can you please advise me if it is possible to create a singular effect, which acts as a combination of the two (a template, if you will) that will allow me to just simply switch the flag from one to another without manually "recreating" the movement every time through handling keyframes?

The bulge effect you are looking for is literally called "Lens Distortion" in your effects palette.  The controls are a little cruder than After Effects, but they are essentially the same. You can adjust for a positive or negative bulge, though you may have to slightly rescale your image afterwards to fill the edges.

Sounds like you're looking for a MOGRT to do your motion graphics.  There's a lot to describe -- so look it up under help or search for any of the thousands of tutorials online.
