missing half of video

so this is probably a rookie mistake but why when i import my video is only half of it showing on screen as in i can only see half of what should be showing and yes i do have it set to fit so please help im very confused

I am guessing as its mpg footage OP is dealing with this issue:

MOD/MPG interpreted wrong

 

Solution was to use CS6 but that is no longer available.

Other option is transcoding with Handbrake.

Do your output specs match your sequence settings? In other words, are you editing at one size (like HD) and then exporting to a different size?

yes they match in the video two people are talking but when i transfer it over it only shows one person and the other persons shoulder

Can you post a screen shot that shows your entire Export window?
