New Here ,
Nov 07, 2024 Nov 07, 2024

Hi,

All the Adobe Stock free templates do not allow media replacement on my system.

Replace from explorer,  Reveal in Project and Open in timeline are all greyed out.

Im running latest versions of PP and AE.

Any ideas what Im doing wrong?

Thanks.

Might want to replace footage in the Properties Panel and not the Effect controls.

Can you save a screenshot of the properties panel?  I can't seem to find the properties panel anywhere.  I did find the Properties under the Window drop-down menu.  But I have to ask, it was so much easier just making changes in the Essential Graphics panel.  Then we had to change/edit it in the Effect Controls panel.  But now we have to open up another panel to adjust a mogrt?  It seems like Adobe has just added way too many steps and clogged up our workspace.

I cannot wait to hear what the reasoning was behind these multiple changes???

I cannot make changes in the Effects Controls panel but now I have to make the changes in the Properties panel?

Make it make sense

The Properties panel will instantly change the controls available, based on what is selected in the Timeline or Program monitor.

So click on a text box and you get controls for sizing and position for the box. Click on the text inside the box, you get text controls.

It's all based on what is selected".

There are several other Adobe apps that have used the Properties panel for most "actionable" commands for some time. And there have been tons of requests from users to the devs and some interest apparently at supervisor level to make the apps more "common" in behavior.

That's perhaps why we have the Properties panel in Premiere replacing several things, including the EGP.

I'm still not a huge fan to he polite. But I do know that many are quite pleased with the change as they feel it simplified workspaces. As having the ECP abd Properties panels both "up" jeans nearly every control you may need is right to hand without switching workspaces.

I can see the utility of it, and yea, I can probably dump two or three of my current nine custom workspaces although I haven't taken the 10 minutes it would be to rebuild a couple others to facilitate the change.

That "context aware" thing does take some time working with it to get comfortable.

Thanks for your insight. I don't have a huge monitor setup (I have a two monitor setup but they're still pretty small). My left monitor is my window that I play the project. So to add another panel will require a lot to get used to. I used to do all edits in the EGP. Then when they moved it to the Effects Control panel I didn't feel like it took up too much space (as I use the ECP very often).
It's just odd to see the replace footage in the ECP and it not function properly.

Mogrts were pretty easy to edit in the EGP. But even then I have so much stacked on that right side of my workspace.

Maybe this will be something I can edit mogrts easier in the properties panel.

Thanks again for your keen insight and your explanation.

Randy

Most all the controls will be in the Properties panel ... when you have the right bit selected. That, for me, was the key to getting working in the Properties panel ... learning when to click on what to select it. Took some time with it, honestly.

But I know some who found 'everything' in a couple minutes ... supposedly. Sigh. Not me.

Having the same issue. Unable to drop media in the drop zone using the Properties window or the Effects Control window.

The screen shot he has in the original post is exactly what I am seeing. In the past you could just drag and drop media to the effects control and then you could modify scale and position.

I know this is very late. But incase anyone else is googling this. I had this exact issue and found that it happened when I dragged in a MOGRT from my library rather than the local folder. Copying MOGRTs to local and using those made media replacement and all other options appear back in properties again.
